5.  Cornerback 2

This offseason, the New York Giants added James Bradberry to be CB1. The move has been both praised and bashed, but it was a solid move by Gettleman to add the vet from Carolina. Behind Bradberry though, lies a heaping pile of question marks.

Last year’s starting cornerback Deandre Baker is likely going to miss the season, at minimum. Sam Beal, the rarely-seen cornerback out of Western Michigan that the Giants spent a third-round pick on during the supplemental draft has opted out of the 2020 NFL season.

The other cornerback options to play spot opposite James Bradberry are Corey Ballentine, Chris Williamson, Grant Haley, Darnay Holmes, Montre Hartage, Christian Angulo, and Jarren Williams. Ballentine and Haley are the only two who have experience on the field with the Giants.

There are two alternative options that would involve converting safeties Julian Love or Dravon Askew-Henry back to cornerback, where they both spent time in college.

Regardless of the decision, the lack of preseason means that the Giants will have to make this decision based strictly off of practice time as opposed to live game action during preseason.
