Following yet another underwhelming football season for the NY Giants,
Big Blue is entering the 2020 season as the NFC East’s ultimate underdogs.

When pressed on how best this team can improve moving forward, NY Giants legend Michael Strahan said it best, “We need some dogs!”

Well, heading into this season the NY Giants and their players should consider themselves the ultimate underdogs following the hiring of a new coaching staff and several key acquisitions made to bolster their offense and defense via free agency and the draft.

After suffering several seasons of mediocrity, there have been many optimistic outlooks for the NY Giants during two consecutive coaching shake-ups.

So why stop now with new head coach, Joe Judge? Unlike his two predecessors, the former New England Patriot special teams coordinator comes to East Rutherford, NJ with a high recommendation from six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach, Bill Belichick, and an offensive line infused with young, dynamic talent.

Next to the coaching change and improvements made upfront, the offense will enter the season with a sophomore quarterback and a superstar running back both eager to have breakout seasons and build off of their bumpy 2019 campaigns.

Similarly, the defense is starting fresh this season with versatile, high football IQ players looking to compete for roster spots come September.

Although this squad’s experience remains the most unproven area on the field for this team due to the high quantity of rookies, it is also its most competitive pool with a high ceiling for success should these young players pan out against NFL teams.

Here are some reasons why the NY Giants are stern underdogs when it comes to seriously compete in 2020 and some evidence as to why fans should be confident in this rebuild.
