5 NY Giants in danger of being roster cuts on Saturday

3. QB Alex Tanney

It’ll come as no surprise to anyone that frequents this website that I feel this roster move would be long overdue, as Alex Tanney offers just about nothing in terms of actually being able to play quarterback for the NY Giants.

Originally brought on for his “mentoring” abilities, it’s almost a slap in the fact to stud second-year QB Daniel Jones to act like he needs to have a mentor following him around. Dave Gettleman already brought in a veteran quarterback to be the backup in Colt McCoy, while also signing Cooper Rush who spent time with new offensive coordinator Jason Garrett in Dallas.

Cutting Tanney would result in no dead cap charge for the NY Giants in 2020 so this seems like a no brainer.
