5. WR Derrick Dillon

Of all the position battles that went on during 2020 NY Giants training camp, the backend competition between the wide receivers was by far the most intriguing to me. With the first three set in stone in the depth chart, Dave Gettleman brought in numerous undrafted prospects with high upside.

Derrick Dillon may not have lived up to expectations at LSU, but that was mainly due to him playing behind future NFL stars like Ja’marr Chase and Justin Jefferson. Still, it would have been nice to see him compile more than 600 yards in his four-year career, as his 200 yard senior season was especially disappointing considering LSU’s offense put up record numbers behind quarterback Joe Burrow.

Dillon was still able to get himself on the NFL radar by running a blazing 4.28 40 time, but he doesn’t seem like a good fit for this NY Giants team as he’s under 6’0” tall and Big Blue already has plenty of those types of WR’s.

The former LSU Tiger was guaranteed the fourth-highest amount of any 2020 NYG UDFA, but in my opinion, he’s a longshot to even make the practice squad at this point due to the heavy competition he’s facing for those roster spots.
