NY Giants are favored to beat Washington Football Team in Week 6

For the first time this season, oddsmakers have installed the NY Giants as favorites.

Despite opening the season 0-5, and coming off a 37-34 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, the NY Giants open Sunday’s Week 6 NFC East clash against the Washington Football Team as 3.5 point favorites. The over/under is just 44.5, according to Bovada.

Washington benched quarterback Dwayne Haskins prior to Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, a 30-10 loss at FedExField that saw Kyle Allen knocked from the game and Alex Smith make his triumphant return from a gruesome leg injury suffered in in Nov., 2018.

Quarterback Daniel Jones and the NY Giants look to build on the offense’s most productive outing of the season, producing a season-high 300 yards and 34 points in Sunday’s last-second loss to the Cowboys. However, even after Sunday’s outing, the Giants are averaging just 16.2 points per game, the second-fewest in the NFL.

This series has been one the Giants have had success in recently, with three of Giants’ nine victories in general manager Dave Gettleman’s tenure coming against Washington, including a season-sweep in 2019.

While the Giants are winless where it matters, head coach Joe Judge’s team is 3-2 against the spread this season.

The NY Giants and Washington kickoff Sunday’s game at 1:00 p.m. at MetLife Stadium.
