Round 1, pick No. 1: Trevor Lawrence, QB Clemson

Lawrence is everything the Giants hoped they were getting in Jones, and has the talent to instantly alter the trajectory of the franchise.

The consensus No. 1 overall pick and top quarterback to emerge from the college ranks in years, Lawrence has the chance to follow in Joe Burrow and Andrew Luck’s footsteps as a can’t miss prospect primed to perform at a high level immediately in the NFL.

A versatile and athletically gifted quarterback, Lawrence is a natural leader having already led Clemson to the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship and in position to lead one last Playoff run with the Tigers this season.

Lawrence, a career 66.4 percent passer with 8,085 yards, 76 touchdowns, just 12 interceptions along with 788 rushing yards and 14 more scores gives the Giants’ offense with running back Saquon Barkley, wide receivers Darius Slayton, Sterling Shepard, and Evan Engram the chance to finally reach the explosive potential that has been talked about for three years.
