NY Giants injury report: Sterling Shepard to return vs. Washington?

NY Giants WR Sterling Shepard was back on the practice field with his teammates Thursday

The NY Giants offense could be getting a significant boost in Sunday’s game against the Washington Football Team at MetLife Stadium.

Wide receiver Sterling Shepard returned to the practice field for the first time Thursday, since being placed on injured reserve due to turf toe following a Week 2 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Shepard’s status for Sunday’s game remains uncertain, but getting back on the field is a big step towards being activated off injured reserve. The Giants held Shepard out of Wednesday’s practice, which was a walkthrough, so he could spend one more day working with trainers.

“We’ll see how he’s moving around today and see where that leads into Sunday,” Giants head coach Joe Judge said Thursday afternoon. “But, today will be a decision making day for most of our [injured] guys.”

As of Thursday, Shepard remains on injured reserve, and was not listed on the Giants’ injury report.
