Round 3 pick, OT – Matt Peart

Through the first three weeks, Cam Fleming was the Giants’ most dominant offensive lineman, but that didn’t stop head coach Joe Judge from working Peart into the past two games for a handful of snaps.

“We plan on everyone who goes to the game playing,” Judge said on Oct. 9, of Peart getting into the game for a handful of snaps against the Los Angeles Rams. “We have different packages for different guys, we’ll see how that factors in based on how the game unfolds.”

While Peart has only played 17 total snaps, Pro Football Focus gives the UConn product a 59.5 overall grade, with a 56.7 pass-blocking grade, and a 59.8 run-blocking mark.

If Fleming continues to struggle, as he did against the Cowboys, and the Giants fall further from keeping pace in the beleaguered NFC East, it wouldn’t be surprising if Peart pushes for a starting job opposite Thomas.
