Daniel Jones’ worst moment of the day

Situation: 1st & Goal from the Washington seven yard line, with the NY Giants winning 13-10, with 56 seconds remaining in the 3rd quarter.

The NY Giants put together their best drive of the day in 3rd quarter with a 14 play, 73-yard drive, that lasted 9 minutes and 14 seconds of game clock.

Unfortunately, the drive ended in a painfully familiar fashion. Jones led the offense down the entire field, but crumbled in the red zone throwing into the end zone when it mattered most. It was another costly interception for Jones as it took away the team’s best drive of the day.

It appeared that the NY Giants got ripped off after replay review showed that Kendall Fuller’s elbow was out of bounds and landed on the back white of the end zone. The refs saw it differently, and the play stood as called as an interception.

Whether it was the right call or not, the team can’t keep affording costly turnovers like this from Jones. In a game with better competition, these plays are often the difference in making or breaking a game into a loss or win. Until it’s corrected, Daniel Jones will still be criticized for his turnover issues and it will hold him back from making the jump to being a premier NFL quarterback.
