Can the NY Giants take advantage of Eagles’ injuries and take an improbable step in the NFC East race with an upset win on Thursday Night Football?

Does anyone want to win the NFC East?

The NY Giants, surging by comparison to their division brethren after Sunday’s 20-19 win over the Washington Football Team, are somehow very much in the race at 1-5.

Thursday night, the Giants are also getting the rival Eagles at exactly the right time.

While Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz seems to be heating up, running back Miles Sanders (knee), and tight end Zach Ertz (ankle) are out this week, joining Philadelphia’s injury report that could fill out most teams’ starting lineups.

Still, Giants head coach Joe Judge isn’t taking the undermanned Eagles for granted.

“I think they have enough weapons on all fronts to really prepare for with these guys,” Judge said Monday. “Look, you don’t want to see any players get hurt, to be honest with you. You want to play teams when they’re at their best.

“That’s what competition is all about. We’re expecting (Alshon) Jeffery and (DeSean) Jackson to be back, and they’re going to give you a lot of trouble, along with all the other receivers they have already.”

Can the Giants string together a second straight victory and climb another rung up the NFC East ladder by pulling off the upset over the Eagles?
