Golden Tate catches his first touchdown of the season
Giants wide receiver Golden Tate … Remember him?
Anyway, Tate has not caught a touchdown pass since a 34-17 Giants loss to the Eagles in Week 17 to close out last season, and hasn’t been all that productive through the first six games of 2020.
Entering Thursday night’s contest, Tate has just 19 receptions for 156 yards while averaging only 8.2 yards per reception.
Something about facing his former teams brings out the best in Tate, who combined for six catches for 78 yards and a touchdown in two games against the Eagles last season and caught eight passes for 85 yards against the Lions.
Last season, it was Slayton who was the focal point of the Giants’ aerial attack in prime time in Philadelphia, but Thursday night don’t be surprised if Tate hauls in his first touchdown of the season and second against the Eagles since he signed with the Giants in March, 2019.
