The NY Giants (1-5), led by quarterback Daniel Jones, wide receiver Darius Slayton, and running back Devonta Freeman visit quarterback Carson Wentz, wide receiver DeSean Jackson and the Philadelphia Eagles (1-4-1) tonight in a battle for second place in the beleaguered NFC East in an 8:20 p.m. kickoff on FOX.

The Giants-Eagles series has been close historically, with the Eagles holding a slight 86-84-2 advantage. The NY Giants and Eagles have split a pair of playoff games.

The NY Giants have dropped seven straight games to their divisional rivals, though, as this series has not been as competitive in recent years. That includes the Eagles sweep of the season series last year. The Giants fell 23-17 in overtime in Philadelphia, and 34-17 at home.

The Giants come in on the heels of a 20-19 victory over the Washington Football Team, the first win under new head coach Joe Judge. The win improved the Giants to 1-5 on the year. The Eagles have lost back-to-back games against the best of the AFC North, the Ravens and Steelers. Philadelphia is 1-4-1 this year.

This time around, the Eagles are riddled with injuries. If the Giants can take advantage and build on last week’s win, perhaps they can play themselves into contention in a weak division and build momentum going forward.

Giants then-rookie quarterback Daniel Jones only played in the second meeting between the two teams last year, throwing for 301 yards on 28 of 47 passing with a touchdown and an interception. He also fumbled twice, losing one.
