QB Daniel Jones – STUD

In a lot of ways, Daniel Jones looked like he came of age as a quarterback in a hostile environment and arguably the biggest game of his young NFL career.

Jones, after the Giants’ defense slammed the door on Wentz and the Eagles at the two-yard line, orchestrated a methodical 15-play, 97 yard drive that he capped with a seven-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Sterling Shepard. On the possession, which lifted the Giants to a 21-10 lead, Jones completed 7-of-9 passing attempts and looked every bit the part of a franchise quarterback.

Beyond his poise under pressure in a big spot, Jones continued to flash his athleticism, once again leading the Giants with 90 rushing yards, including an 80 yard run that would have been for a touchdown had the 15-yard line not jumped up and made the tackle.

The Giants didn’t get the result they hopped on the train to Philadelphia in search of, but Jones’ performance, 20-of-30 passing for 187 yards with two touchdown passes, and one interception, has to inspire confidence.
