Washington Football Team Trade Rumors: Ryan Kerrigan for a Late Round Pick

The veteran pass rusher is in the last year of his contract, and at the age of 32 he doesn’t figure to be part of the team’s long-term plans. He’s still got four sacks so far this year, though. That means he’s got some value to a contender – especially as a situational pass rusher who can be kept fresh and used on third downs and in late-game situations when protecting a lead.

Kerrigan would probably fetch a fifth or sixth round pick, and it could be one of those deals that makes sense for everyone involved. Peter King thinks the Seahawks, Niners or Patriots might be interested.

There has been talk for a few weeks now about the Football Team from Washington moving Dwayne Haskins, but it seems premature and a poor use of assets to trade a first-round QB a year and a half after you drafted him when he’s at rock-bottom in terms of value around the league.
