NY Giants: NFL trade deadline stay or go | Golden Tate, Logan Ryan, more
WR Golden Tate
Could the Giants signing wide receiver Corey Coleman back to the practice squad this week be foretelling a Golden Tate trade?
It’s certainly possible.
According to an NFC personnel director I spoke to this week, Tate is likely going to be a popular name on the market ahead of Tuesday, particularly among playoff caliber teams such as the Green Bay Packers or Cleveland Browns.
If Gettleman’s phone isn’t already ringing, he should be placing calls to each wide receiver needy team in the league trying to get someone to bite on the 32-year-old slot receiver who remains productive but might not be the same caliber of player two or three years down the line when the Giants are actually in a position to compete for a playoff run themselves.
