NY Giants’ Daniel Jones TD pass to Dion Lewis vs. Buccaneers was thing of beauty
NY Giants QB Daniel Jones fired a beautiful pass to a sliding Dion Lewis for a touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones earned his “Danny Dimes” nickname in the first quarter of Monday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Moments after Giants linebacker Blake Martinez forced a Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones fumble that the Giants recovered, Jones fired a perfectly placed pass leading running back Dion Lewis to the pylon that Lewis made a sliding reception for a 15-yard touchdown. Lewis’ snag was more impressive because Buccaneers linebacker Devin White was draped all over him in coverage.
The Giants took a 7-3 lead with just over 4:00 remaining in the opening quarter.
Jones now has tossed six touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Following his touchdown pass to Lewis, Jones had completed 4-of-7 passes for 24 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Lewis’ touchdown comes after he seemed to fall to third in the running back pecking order behind Devonta Freeman and Wayne Gallman leading up to Monday night’s game. However, the catch by Lewis was one of his finest moments of this season so far.
