Round 2, pick No. 37: Kwity Paye, Edge rusher – Michigan

The Giants chose four linebackers beginning with Cam Brown in the sixth-round of April’s NFL Draft, but would be wise to prioritize the front-seven in the early rounds next April.

After all, the Giants had just 36 sacks last season and are currently 14th in the NFL with 18 so far this season.

Enter, Michigan’s Kwity Paye.

Paye, 6-foot-4 and 272 pounds has the size to either put his hand in the dirt and play defensive end or stand up and pin his ears back as an outside linebacker at the NFL level, has 11.5 sacks, 90 total tackles, and one forced fumble in 25 games in Ann Arbor.

In addition to being a possibly productive pass-rusher, particularly as a bull-rusher Paye also has the potential to be a plus-run defender, which seems to be a prerequisite to get on Giants general manager Dave Gettleman’s radar.
