Logan Ryan

Ryan has steadily improved as this season has worn on, and provided some much-needed veteran steadiness to a secondary in dire need of it. It was Ryan who intercepted Kirk Cousins in the waning moments of the Giants’ Week 9 victory over Washington, but that’s far from the only impact play he’s made this season. Ryan has a sack, 14 run stops, and opposing receivers are averaging just 10.4 yards per reception against him. If Ryan continues on this trajectory, it’s going to be difficult for the Giants to justify not bringing him back in 2021, particularly if nickel cornerback remains an issue down the stretch. Grade: A-

Jabrill Peppers

The Giants picked up Peppers’ fifth-year option prior to this season, a tacit commitment to him in 2021, which is basically what Peppers’ play to this point commanded. Peppers has been wildly inconsistent … He’ll have games like the victory over Washington where he recovered a fumble, sacked Kyle Allen, and intercepted Alex Smith, but also games like his performance against the Eagles where he gave up the game-winning touchdown and several big plays. However, as Ryan has heated up, so has Peppers. It will be interesting to see if that trend continues after the bye. Grade: B-

Julian Love

There were sky high expectations for Love after his impressive training camp where he rarely came off the field and shined at safety and nickel. However, that hasn’t translated to this season. In 406-plus defensive snaps, Love has allowed opposing quarterbacks a 105.1 passer rating when targeting him, and receivers are averaging 17.3 yards per reception against him. Grade: C-

Nate Ebner

A special teams standout, the Giants inexplicably gave Ebner snaps on defense back in Week 2 against the Bears, to disastrous results. Ebner was out of position and made a poor attempt at a tackle on an early Bears touchdown and has only played a total of 36 defensive snaps. In 25 coverage snaps, quarterbacks have a 118.8 passer rating when targeting him. Grade D
