Round 6: Trey Dean – CB, Florida

Size: 6-foot-3, 200 pounds

2020 stats: 10 total tackles

Eventually, the Giants are going to need to find starting caliber cornerbacks to pair with James Bradberry.

Dean has the ideal length that defensive coordinators covet, along with experience playing outside or in the slot. Solid footwork, a long reach, and versatility could make Dean an ideal fit in Patrick Graham’s defense and a unique pairing with Xavier McKinney as a virtual Swiss-Army knife in the secondary.

In a division that features potential big play threats like Washington’s Terry McLaurin, the Eagles’ Jalen Reagor, and the Cowboys’ Amari Cooper, Dean’s recovery speed and ability to win battles for contested passes could prove to be an asset opposite Bradberry.
