4. Jabaal Sheard records two sacks

So long as we’re being bold …

The Giants opened the season with Lorenzo Carter, Kyler Fackrell, and Markus Golden as their top pass rushers, but with Carter out for the season with a torn Achilles, Fackrell on injured reserve with a calf injury, and Golden starting for the Arizona Cardinals, it’s Jabaal Sheard time on the edge for the Giants’ defense.

Last week against the Bengals, in expanded playing time, Sheard was able to pick up a sack despite playing just 17 pass rush snaps. He’ll see even more playing time Sunday, against a relatively vulnerable Seahawks offensive line.

It wouldn’t be out of the question for Sheard to pick up two sacks, particularly if Wilson winds up trying to shake loose off the edge and is met by Sheard just behind the line of scrimmage.
