GMEN HQ: An Interview with the Seahawks’ 12th Man Rising
GMEN HQ: How do you expect the Seahawks’ defense to mix it up or give some different looks Sunday to give backup quarterback Colt McCoy trouble under center?
12th Man Rising:
The Seahawks have been mostly successful for a decade because of Russell Wilson and a decent-to-great defense. The one thing that hasn’t changed is head coach Pete Carroll and make no mistake that this is Pete Carroll’s defense and Carroll is a very good defensive coach.
But Seattle also doesn’t do a lot of exotic things on defense. What you see is what you get and the only thing that really changes is how much pressure Seattle brings.
My fear is that without Dunlap, Seattle will sit back in zone and allow McCoy to throw underneath and pick up short yards but keep drives alive and eat clock. A short game for the Giants means less Russell Wilson and this is how the Giants can win.
