Round 2, Pick No. 41: Christian Darrisaw – OT, Virginia Tech

6-foot-5, 315 pounds

Last April, the Giants chose Andrew Thomas No. 4 overall, but the former Georgia Bulldog has been wildly inconsistent as a rookie, at times looking every bit the top offensive tackle prospect in the draft and at others like he’s on the cusp of being benched.

Regardless of what Thomas’ future holds, the Giants would be wise to add an offensive tackle early next April, either to allow Thomas to move to right tackle or as a bookend to complement their 2020 first-round pick.

Virginia Tech’s Christian Darrisaw is one of the top tackles in the 2021 NFL Draft class, thanks in part because of the way he excels at moving laterally as well as quickly getting to the second-level as a run-blocker. Darrisaw has plenty of strength and frequently showcases his ability to stonewall in pass protection.
