Cam Brown gets his first career sack

The Giants have rotated in rookie linebackers Tae Crowder, Carter Coughlin, and Cam Brown on meaningful snaps the past several weeks, and that will likely continue Sunday, especially if Blake Martinez is at all limited by a back injury that seemed to hamper him late in last week’s game.

Brown, a versatile, athletic but raw prospect out of Penn State was chosen by the Giants in the sixth-round and to date has played 45 pass rush snaps and eight run defense snaps, producing six pressures, three hurries, and three quarterback hits. However, Brown has yet to record his first career sack.

While Mayfield has only been sacked 17 times this season, and hasn’t been sacked the past two games, the Giants have done a nice job of pressuring the quarterback in recent weeks. Sunday could be the game that Brown finally gets home for his first sack.
