LT Andrew Thomas

Grade: B+

This season has been rough for the Giants offensive line, who bare the brunt for many of the offensive woes. And if you call out the guys when they have a poor game, you should be able to cheer for the guys who played hard, even in a loss.

Andrew Thomas played a stellar game against one of the leagues best defensive ends, Myles Garrett.

Garrett came into this game as one of the league leaders in sacks, but he was kept in check by the rookie left tackle. He only had four tackles, one QB hit, and a half sack that came as the Giants were in desperation mode at the end of the game.

But for much of the night, McCoy did not have to worry about being hit by Garrett coming from his blindside, which helped him stand in the pocket longer and deliver some gems.

Thomas had a great night of pass blocking, but the Giants were unable to sustain the run game they had maintained throughout their mid-season win streak. They only rushed for 74 yards, and neither Wayne Gallman nor Alfred Morris (who was the better rusher of the two on Sunday night) had more than nine carries.

The Giants were forced to throw more as their point deficit grew. And Thomas stepped up to give them a chance to get back into it. Outside the late sack, you barely heard Garrett’s name or number called, proving just how well Thomas played.
