Defensive Lineman Leonard Williams

The Big Cat is probably the team’s biggest 2021 Pro Bowl Snub. Simply put, Leonard Williams has played like a top-5 interior defensive linemen all season.

Williams has finally figured it out in year six of his NFL career. The former Jet-turned-Giant has put all his physical gifts and football talents together for his breakout year. He has career-high sack numbers with 8.5 on the year, his 49 (and counting) tackles are also his most since his second season back in 2016.

Williams has also stepped up in big moments all season. He recovered the game-winning fumble in the NY Giants’ win in Cincinnati and he also made the penultimate sack on the second-last play of the game in the Giants’ signature win over Seattle. He has made huge plays in timely spots when needed much of 2020.

Williams has been the team’s most consistent and successful pass rusher this season. His 8.5 sacks is also backed up by his 24 quarterback hits and 11 tackles for a loss. The team is in a tricky position with him entering free agency in 2021, but they should do everything in their power to resign a play that greatly helps the team.
