Round 3, pick No. 74: Roger McCreary – CB, Auburn

For as much stability as Pro Bowler James Bradberry has provided the Giants’ secondary, cornerback depth remains a going concern.

Enter, McCreary.

McCreary is a ballhawk, capable of both being aggressive in press-man coverage at the line of scrimmage and patient enough to read a quarterback and receiver to pounce when sitting back in zone.

As a junior this season, McCreary got his chance to shine on the outside, and the 6-foot and 188 pound playmaker didn’t disappoint. McCreary finished the season with 45 total tackles, three interceptions, and one forced fumble.

It isn’t difficult to envision McCreary walking into the Giants’ starting job opposite Bradberry in 2021.
