Round 4, pick No. 112: Rashad Weaver -Edge rusher, Pitt

The most glaring deficiency on the Giants’ defense is the lack of a dominant pass rush presence, and if Parsons is off the board by the time New York goes on the clock, that has a chance to be a Round 1 target.

However, if the Giants come away with the dominant Swiss Army knife in Round 1, rounding back to add value and depth with Weaver — if he’s available in the fourth-round could be a home run.

Weaver, 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, has prototypical size and had major productivity in three seasons at Pitt where he recorded 17 sacks over three seasons to go with 109 total tackles and five forced fumbles.

Should the Giants lose either Leonard Williams or Dalvin Tomlinson in free agency this offseason Weaver could contribute with his hand on the ground, or stand up as an outside linebacker opposite Lorenzo Carter or Oshane Ximines.
