The NY Giants will have several key decisions to make in the 2021 NFL Draft. There are still holes at several spots on the roster that must be improved and targeted in the draft.

The NY Giants still have too many holes and question marks at key position groups all over the roster. Dave Gettleman has left this team with too little talent to truly compete in the NFL, not just in the lowly NFC (L)east.

The team entered this season with major question marks surrounding the offensive line, the wide receivers, the linebackers, and the entire secondary. Some of these question marks have resolved themselves. The team seems set on the offensive line with Andrew Thomas, Shane Lemieux, Nick Gates, and Matt Peart all look like pieces for the future of the front five. Will Hernandez’s role with the team has lost steam over time, but he can still maybe be a long-term guard for New York.

Dave Gettleman’s seat has gotten much warmer over the last two weeks. Two straight ugly losses have sent this team reeling into the legitimate danger of missing the playoffs in one of the worst divisions in NFL history.

This upcoming 2021 NFL Draft  will be pivotal for the team’s future. They need to hit on as many picks as possible and keep building the future and foundation of the franchise. The team has a promising 2020 draft class to build on and they must keep aggressively building the roster through the draft.

Right now, New York is looking at picking at any spot between the 4th overall pick and the 19th overall pick if they miss out on the playoffs. After three straight seasons picking in the top ten, it’s time for NY to take the next step and become a playoff contender and hit on later 1st round prospects and especially Day 2 prospects.
