NY Giants’ NFL Playoffs hopes hanging by a thread after loss to Baltimore Ravens
The NY Giants need major help, and a minor miracle, to make the NFL Playoffs after losing their third consecutive game Sunday
Three weeks ago the NY Giants sat alone atop the NFC East division standings after pulling off a double-digit road upset of the Seattle Seahawks, but will board the train home from a disastrous blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens needing a miracle to make the NFL Playoffs.
Following Sunday’s 27-13 loss that was never really that competitive, the NY Giants can be eliminated from postseason contention if the Washington Football Team beats the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon.
How the mediocre have fallen.
If the Panthers upset Washington — who turn to third-string quarterback Dwayne Haskins — the Giants would still have a chance to win the NFC East by defeating the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17 if the Cowboys beat the Eagles on Sunday afternoon and then the Eagles bounce back to beat Washington at Lincoln Financial Field in Week 17.
That’s a far cry from where the Giants were one month ago.
Here’s a look at the NFC East standings entering the late games on Sunday:
- Washington Football Team 6-8 vs. Carolina Panthers
- Dallas Cowboys 5-9 vs. Philadelphia Eagles
- NY Giants 5-10
- Philadelphia Eagles 4-9-1 at Dallas Cowboys
