GMEN HQ: Lamar Jackson won the NFL MVP Award last season. It appears teams have caught up to him and the Ravens’ offense. Why hasn’t the offense had nearly the same success as last season?

Ebony Bird:

Oh, here we go, with the narrative that they caught up with Lamar Jackson again.

Look, they caught up with Greg Roman. Roman has a track record for running a pedestrian offense after one good year. I’m sorry, it’s just tiresome. Jackson’s talent didn’t go anywhere. He has 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions with one of the worst groups of wide receivers in the NFL. His offensive line has been very problematic. He still has a 98 passer rating and he has 828 yards rushing.

The Ravens have major problems on the offensive line. Ben Powers is kind of fixing the right guard mess that has plagued the Ravens much of the season and not having Stanley at left tackle is less than ideal. The play-calling is atrocious at times. Lamar is still the best thing going for the Ravens.
