QB Colt McCoy
McCoy has proven to be a dutiful backup this season in his two starts and four appearances, and behind the scenes a mentor to Jones, but if the Giants are going to be serious about contending for championships in the near future, the organization needs a more gifted option to be a chinstrap away from playing.
In his four games, McCoy has completed 60.6 percent of his passes for 375 yards with one touchdown and one interception, but in his two starts the Giants scored a combined 13 points. That simply isn’t going to get it done.
When backup quarterbacks across the league such as Andy Dalton, Ryan FItzpatrick, and Marcus Mariota are having the kind of success they are this season and winning critical games, it is obvious that the Giants need an upgrade here.
