Need to jumpstart listless offense

It is impossible to legitimately compete in the modern NFL with an offense that averages 17.5 points per game, and with a quarterback who did not surpass 300 yards in a single game.

The Giants only averaged 17.5 points per game, while only the Pittsburgh Steelers, Washington Football Team, and Chicago Bears made the postseason averaging 26 points or fewer.

Dropping Watson into an offense with running back Saquon Barkley, wide receivers Sterling Shepard would immediately give the Giants a chance to dominate the NFC East and perhaps make deeper runs into the playoffs.

Watson passed for 4,823 yards with 33 touchdowns and just seven interceptions with a 112.4 passer rating in 2020.

It was like he was playing a different sport than Jones.

Joe Judge will be entering his second season, and if he believes he can win a Super Bowl with Jones, there is no reason to entertain making a deal.

However, Jones showed him very little reason to believe that he has that kind of ceiling.

Giants owner John Mara has preached patience, but how much patience will the owner have for this head coach if the results don’t change dramatically? Remember, Ben McAdoo and Pat Shurmur each were fired after less than three seasons … No one is saying that Judge’s seat is even warming up, but another season of seven or fewer wins with a floundering quarterback situation will certainly speed up his clock.

Judge has every motivation to win as quickly as possible, and Watson gives him the best chance to.
