Taking a break from fantasy land, John Ross is a more reasonable trade target at the wide receivers position than Jeffrey and Jones are.

The wide receiver who came out of Washington in 2017 and then proceeded to break the 40-yard dash time record with a 4.22 has shown flashes but has not been able to be consistent so far in his career.

It is not time to give up on the young and talented receiver who has battled many injuries since he was drafted by Cincinnati. A new contract would be needed for Ross but a short-term prove-it deal would work well for his current situation.

A speedy receiver such as Ross would be a solid addition to the core for the NY Giants, having someone who is that dynamic with his speed is tough for any corner to stop for four quarters.

Allowing Ross to use his ridiculous speed if he can stay healthy will open up the field for Darius Slayton to get more open and get great numbers and opportunities to make big plays in 2021.

Ross would also be available for fairly cheap in terms of draft stock, so if there is anybody on this list that you could predict the Giants would have on the roster next season, he is the most likely bet.

Ross has also said in the past that he does want a trade as the Bengals do not view him the way he thinks he deserves to be viewed which is a fair concern. The Giants would be a change of scenery that he needs, and if healthy will be a problem to cover for years to come.

Whether Ross is acquired as a free-agent or other means, he should and will still be on the Giants’ radar as a free-agent signing is much more likely for him. Will he make enough of a difference to take them to the next level, most likely not but again, any help at receiver is help for Daniel Jones in his development.
