QB Daniel Jones

Nothing matters more to the NY Giants’ postseason chances in 2021 or the trajectory of the franchise than determining if Daniel Jones is a legitimate franchise quarterback, which after his 2020 campaign remains an open question.

Jones, chosen No. 6 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, has been on the field for just eight wins, and continues to turn the football over at an alarming rate — 16 times this past season, alone. In addition to Jones’ 22 career interceptions, he has also fumbled 29 times, while tossing just 35 touchdowns in two seasons.

Now, the Giants’ offensive line very much remains a work in progress, and Jones has withstood XX pressures, but elite quarterbacks overcome that pressure and elevate the play of the rest of the offense. Jones has only sparingly shown that ability through two seasons and might not get a fourth opportunity to if he doesn’t take a monumental leap forward in his third.
