Analysis:

Offense becomes the dominant theme of the NY Giants 2021 draft with this round four pick.

Here, we have the Giants taking Whop Philyor the gritty receiver from Indiana. Whop was a four-year player for the Hoosiers where he helped change the culture and led the way to back-to-back bowl appearances along with putting IU on the national map for the first time ever gaining college football’s respect.

Whop’s most productive season came in 2019 when he collected 70 catches for 1,0002 yards and five touchdowns. This past season, Whop toughed it out through injury and battled to 495 yards and three touchdowns.

Philyor is known for his toughness, his commitment to maximum effort, he catches contested balls and runs routes into traffic, and he is a refined route runner who can make guys miss in the open field with his shifty moves and nifty cuts.

Philyor would again add another element missing from this offense. He can become a true possession receiver for Jones and be a reliable option to move the chains and be a steady figure on third downs.

Whop is a high-intensity, high-effort player who has fun playing and always has a smile on his face while doing so. Adding him and Jaylen Waddle into an offense with Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, and Saquon Barkley, and the NY Giants may have something brewing again offensively in 2021.
