Honorable Mentions

Barry Cofield, DL, 2006 NFL Draft: 4th Round (124 Overall)

Cofield started all 16 games as an interior defensive lineman in as a rookie and would go on to start all but 2 games in his 5-year stint with the G-Men. He amassed 211 total tackles, 10.5 sacks, 27 tackles for loss, and 22 QB hits. Cofield was an underrated piece to one of the most dominant defensive lines in the NFL of the mid-late 2000s.

David Tyree, WR, 2003 NFL Draft: 6th Round (211 Overall)

While Tyree only recorded 650 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns in the regular season for his Giants career, the Super Bowl XLII performance alone get him an honorable mention nod. His early touchdown (his only touchdown of the 2007 season) gave the G-Men an early lead and the iconic helmet catch on the final drive of the game will always and forever be etched into the memories of Giants fans.

Derrick Ward, RB, 2004 NFL Draft: 7th Round (235 Overall)

In 2007 he became a solid backup option to Brandon Jacobs, as he notched 602 rushing yards, 179 receiving yards, and 4 total touchdowns. In 2008, Ward had his career-year rushing for 1,025 yards and 2 scores and adding another 384 yards through the air.

With Brandon Jacobs rushing for over 1,000 yards that season as well, he and Ward became just the 5th running back duo to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards in the same season in NFL history. That season, Ward also lead the NFL in yards/rush with 5.6.

Ward’s 5-year tenure with the NY Giants ended with 2,326 scrimmage yards and 6 total touchdowns.
