The NY Giants’ Draft preparation and the travel itineraries of general manager Dave Gettleman, head coach Joe Judge, and the team’s scouting staff became a bit clearer this week as the NFL set the official pro day schedule ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Gettleman, Judge, and the scouting department will now get to jetsetting to the campuses of some of the top college football programs across the country, scouting the premier talent in this year’s NFL Draft.

In the absence of the annual NFL Scouting Combine, pro days will take on significantly more meaning.

An NY Giants area scout already watched presumptive No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence throw at Clemson, and scouts will likely be on hand at the Tigers’ pro day next month. The organization will likely be represented at Penn State‘s pro day as presumptive top-10 pick Micah Parsons and seven other draft prospects work out. Likewise, expect the Giants to be on hand in Tuscaloosa for Alabama’s pro day, perhaps even with Judge in attendance, and in LSU where several prospects fit positions of need.

One significant change this year is the fact that teams will be limited to two representatives per club at each pro day, to aid in social distancing amid the continued fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.
