Scouting Report

Tamorrion Terry has an impressive blend of size, speed, and big play ability.  He has all the makings that go along with being a prototypical X receiver in the NFL. His long strides and smooth acceleration allow for him to get loose on 9-routes, double-moves, and posts.  He has tremendous build up speed and excellent burst at the top of his routes.  He uses his height and long wingspan to make contested catches down the field.  His excellent leaping ability helps him high point the football and make chunk plays down the field.

Terry’s routes are crisp, and he runs a complete route tree.  For a taller receiver, he can really sink his hips and shows great fluidity getting in and out of his breaks.  This allows him to create the cushion he needs to set up his vertical breaks at the top of his routes. The ease in which he can snap off his routes and work back to the ball has had led to him having excellent success after the catch.  His rare balance of elusiveness, vision, and footwork are what allows for him to make big plays after the catch.

He averaged 58 yards-per-catch on his 9 touchdowns during the 2019 season.  That was a combination of his aforementioned abilities to both create yards after the catch, as well as make contested catches deep down the field.

Terry has had his share of drops during his career as well.  Frustrating drops at that.  He’s had lapses in concentration during different points of his career.  At times he will use improper technique when attempting a catch or will be late to adjust to an incoming throw.  These momentary lapses in concentration could be caused by a variety of factors.  Regardless of what it is, he will have to find a way to fix it if he wants to have sustained success at the next level.

Projection

Mid-to-Late Day 2

Tamorrion Terry has all the tools and abilities to easily be a first-round pick.  If he ever wants to play up to his capabilities and meet his potential, he is going to have to show better concentration.  Maybe the step-up in talent of is competition will give him the motivation to improve.  Maybe he will be motivated by the prospects of otherworldly financial gain. Or maybe that is just who he is, and we will never get to see him live up to his potential.
