Round 2, pick No. 42: Ronnie Perkins, edge-rusher, Oklahoma

Perkins is one of the speediest edge players in this year’s class, and could be exactly what the NY Giants’ need to bolster a pass-rush that had predominantly reliant on generating pressure along the defensive interior.

Last season, Perkins produced a 90.4 pass-rush grade from Pro Football Focus, thanks in large part to his speed, quick-twitch and fluidity at the line of scrimmage that helped him fight off blockers in the Big XII, while producing 5.5 sacks for the Sooners last season.

It isn’t difficult to envision Perkins stepping into East Rutherford as a plug-and-play starter opposite Lorenzo Carter, or perhaps even as an upgrade over the 2018 third-round pick.
