Round 4, pick No. 116: Seth Williams, WR, Auburn
The Giants, after bagging Pitts in the first-round, add quality receiver depth and continue to collect weapons for Jones by rounding back and selecting Darius Slayton’s collegiate teammate, Auburn’s Seth Williams.
Similar to Slayton, speed and shiftiness is the name of Williams’ game. To that end, Williams forced 14 missed tackles last season, fifth-among all wide receivers, Pro Football Focus says.
Williams caught 47 of his 100 targets, with eight drops, for 759 yards and four touchdowns, while averaging 16.1 yards per catch and producing a 69.8 overall grade from PFF.
Depending on what the NY Giants do in free agency, he could immediately push for a starting job as one of New York’s outside receivers. Williams’ ability to make plays after the catch, as well as his speed to create some separation would make him a welcomed addition to Jones’ arsenal.
