Round 6, pick No. 198: Michael Menet, G/C, Penn State

The Giants started Nick Gates at center, for the first time in his football career, last season to mixed results.

Meanwhile, former second-round pick Will Hernandez regressed dramatically under a new coaching staff as fifth-round rookie Shane Lemieux was a colossal disappointment, replacing Hernandez at left guard.

Put all of the uncertainty along the interior of the Giants’ offensive line together, and it’s easy to see why the organization might make adding quality depth at guard and center rather high on its offseason wishlist.

Menet made 29 collegiate starts as the anchor of the Nittany Lions’ offensive line and developed into one of the most consistently dominant centers in the Big Ten Conference. He could easily find himself on NY Giants GM Dave Gettleman’s target board on Day 3 of the NFL Draft.
