2) DL Dalvin Tomlinson
Dalvin Tomlinson is precisely the type of player the NY Giants should do whatever is necessary to commit to long-term, and build around.
A homegrown talent, Tomlinson is coming off his most dominant campaign, producing 3.5 sacks and 49 total tackles while playing alongside Leonard Williams for a full season.
Tomlinson is a prime candidate for the franchise tag, but that could cost the Giants upwards of $16.1 million against the cap this season. Likely to be among the most sought after defensive linemen, should he hit the open-market, the NY Giants would be wise to figure out a way to come to terms on a long-term deal with the 27-year-old.
Recently, a current NFL agent told GMenHQ that Tomlinson would likely command between $10-$12 million annually. That’s a number that the Giants can get to, reasonably, by clearing the deck of some high-priced and underachieving veterans.
