2) Arizona Cardinals
If the Cardinals’ signing of defensive lineman J.J. Watt proves anything, it is that Arizona is all in on pushing for a Super Bowl in the immediate future, and doing whatever is necessary to keep pace in the rapid NFC West arms race.
Pairing Kyler Murray with All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and Christian Kirk was a solid foundation for a dynamic offense, and Engram could potentially elevate Murray’s game and the Cardinals’ offense to new heights.
Dan Arnold caught 31 passes for 438 yards and four touchdowns last season, and Murray had a 128.9 passer rating when targeting him, but getting Arnold and Engram on the field together in two-tight end sets with Kirk and Hopkins might be one of the most formidable set of pass-catchers in the NFL.
Arizona, even after signing Watt, have over $12.58 million in cap space, plenty of room to absorb Engram’s fifth-year option and potentially even sign him long-term.
