3) Release B.J. Hill

As far as potential salary cap casualties go, B.J. Hill makes some sense, particularly if the NY Giants goal is to retain both Williams and Dalvin Tomlinson.

Hill, 26, saw his playing time dramatically diminish in 2019 after Williams’ arrival and while he remains part of the NY Giants’ pass-rush rotation, his productivity hasn’t increased since his rookie season.

Last season, Hill produced just one sack one year removed from a one-sack 2019 campaign. The NY Giants could also attempt to bring back veteran Austin Johnson as a more cost-effective option to Hill.

Releasing Hill would create $2.183 million in new cap space while triggering a dead-money charge of just $257,379.

Next. NY Giants need only worry about retaining these 4 free agents. dark
