The NY Giants’ wide receive room still needs more talent.

The NY Giants are set to return Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton back for 2021.

Behind them, the team is also bringing back Dante Pettis, Austin Mack, C.J. Board, amongst more familiar faces in the wide receiver. Gone are the likes of Golden Tate, Binjimen Victor, and Da’Mari Scott.

This wide receiver group is set to add John Ross to the mix and the NFL’s 40-yard dash king will look to prove himself on a one-year deal. Joining him will be Slayton, Shepard, Pettis, and anyone else’s guess. It is expected this group will still look much different come September.

The Giants added much-needed speed with John Ross. However, this group still lacks a reliable, red-zone threat who can consistently put up points on the board for the Giants in the end zone. They also need somebody who can come down with 50-50, contested, and jump ball throws that are essential to big plays and keeping the sticks alive.

Th Giants’ receiving unit still needs a true No. 1 receiving option on the outside.

Both Shepard and Slayton are nice, solid players on their own but both are more complementary players. Shepard and Slayton are going to need more help than just John Ross to truly scare defenses and open up the field for Daniel Jones and allow Jason Garrett to *hopefully* be creative with his playcalling and formations.
