The NY Giants should make a statement and sign Kenny Golladay.

Ultimately, there appears to be enough serious mutual interest for both sides where the Giants are in the driver’s seat to sign Kenny Golladay. He is coming to East Rutherford, NJ to take a visit and the Giants would be foolish to let him on a plane to go anywhere else.

The Giants haven’t adequately replaced Odell Beckham Jr. since trading him in 2019 and it has been glaringly evident on the field each week since his departure how much his absence created a void in the New York offense. The Giants have sorely missed a number one option at receiver for two consecutive seasons.

Kenny Golladay has enough interest to visit the facility and ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reported Golladay has had his eyes set on New York a destination throughout the free agency process.

Jones has needed somebody to rely on for two seasons and Golladay can be the guy who can take this passing offense to a higher level and give Jones a security blanket for all types of throws. Golladay is great at contested catches, he led the league in receiving touchdowns in his Pro Bowl 2019 season, and he has two 1,000 yard seasons in his four NFL years.

In 2019, the Giants got a firsthand view of what Kenny Golladay can do.

Golladay helped lead the Lions to victory over the Giants in Detroit where Golladay abused the NY secondary to the tune of six catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Golladay’s first touchdown was a tremendous grab, showcasing his body control and ability to make plays in traffic while also scoring a tough touchdown. Golladay’s second touchdown came off a flea-flicker in the 4th quarter to put the Lions up 11 and essentially put the game to bed.

Golladay can be to Daniel Jones hopefully similarly to what Plaxico Burress did for Eli Manning. Burress was an imposing 6’5 receiver who also came in free agency and made a huge impact for the GMen and formed a dynamic duo with Manning. Golladay is 6’4 who has similar traits and ball-dominant skills that can also make a similar impact joining the Giants’ offense through free agency.

The Giants would be making a major mistake if they don’t reach a deal with Golladay. Unless something goes wrong with his hip in the team’s medical exams and his contract demands are not too exorbitantly high, Kenny Golladay can hopefully become the new top target for Daniel Jones. With the two sides meeting this week, it will be seen whether or not the Giants land their man.
