The NY Giants entered the offseason desperately in need of an outside cornerback opposite James Bradberry, and are shopping at the top of the position’s market, hosting former first-round pick Adroee Jackson for a free agent visit this weekend.

News of Jackson’s visit was first broken by ESPN. According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, Jackson will visit East Rutherford Sunday.

Jackson, 25, has the ability to play outside cornerback and has proven to be dangerous in the return game.

Last season, Jackson battled suffered a sprained patella tendon prior to Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, and was placed on injured reserve. Jackson only appeared in three games last season, and surrendered 11 completions on 15 targets.

However, when he was fully healthy in 2019, Jackson looked every bit like a former first-round draft pick.

In 2019, according to Pro Football Focus, opposing quarterbacks had just a 91.8 pass rating when targeting him and he produced a 75.2 coverage grade.

Jackson has appeared in 46 games for the Titans, with 41 starts, and has produced 130 total tackles while allowing an average of just eight yards per target. He’s also intercepted two passes during his career.

The NY Giants’ defense made strides last season, but featured a rotating cast of cornerbacks such as Madre Harper and Isaac Yiadom opposite Bradberry, the organization’s signature investment last offseason. Bradberry made his first Pro Bowl appearance following a dominant debut campaign for the Giants, but it is obvious that upgrading the other outside spot is a priority.

Shopping at the top of the market, and hosting Jackson for a visit, underscores that the NY Giants realize that.
