Dallas Cowboys

2020 Record: 6-10

2021 Venues: MetLife Stadium, AT&T Stadium

Arguably the NY Giants’ fiercest and most hated rivals, the Star itself.

The so-called ‘America’s Team’ better known as the Dallas Cowboys haven’t even been to an NFC Championship since 1995. They have won a grand total of four playoff games in the 25 years since. Is it time to put the ‘America’s team’ gag to bed?

Fast-forwarding back to 2021, the Cowboys long overdue paid Dak Prescott his much anticipated long-term contract. They were testing some truly murky and risky waters dangling the franchise tag on Prescott for a second straight year.

Dak will need to prove he’s healthy and back to his old self before anything. He is expected to make a full recovery and should play like the early MVP candidate he was last season. If he returns to normal, he is head and shoulders the most talented QB in the NFC East. Behind him though, are far more questions than answers on the Dallas roster.

Ezekiel Elliott is coming off a career-worst 2020, their line was injured and a mess all year, and the defense lacks a true identity. The once-dominant Cowboys’ offensive line has been battered and aged to pieces going into 2021. The five up front are no longer capable of singlehandedly wearing teams down, controlling the clock, and grinding out yards to win games.

The Cowboys’ defense is suspect at best.

Jaylon Smith struggled in 2020 while Leighton Vander Esch has consistently failed at staying healthy as well. The secondary doesn’t scare anybody and will be a major concern for Dallas in 2021.

The NY Giants finally broke their seven-game losing streak to Dallas in Week 17. It was a must-win for both teams as they looked to clinch their spot in the playoffs. Three and a half seasons was far too long without a win against the Star. The Giants must sustain their momentum vs Dallas and find a way to at least split the season series again in 2021.
