Dallas Cowboys Draft Needs

2021 Draft Picks: #10, #44, #75, #99, #115, #138, #179, and #192

Biggest Positions of Need: Defensive Linemen, Linebacker, Cornerback

The Dallas Cowboys could use some help all over their defense.

The Star’s defensive unit couldn’t stop anyone offensively in 2021. The group dealt with injuries, new guys, a new scheme, and overall bad play across the board.

Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch didn’t play as the dynamic 1-2 punch many expected last season. On the defensive line, DeMarcus Lawrence needs more help upfront to generate a pass rush and stop the run. It was a major problem for Dallas in 2021 and now Aldon Smith (their leading sack artist) is a pending free agent. With or without Aldon, the group needs more talented players making a difference in the Dallas front seven.

The Cowboys secondary is unproven and lacks many playmakers. The team’s cornerbacks haven’t developed as many fans hoped for. Dallas is picking 10th in the first round of this draft. Focusing on a cornerback such as Patrick Surtain Jr. or Caleb Farley may be their best move to compete with the NFC East’s talented group of receivers.
