Philadelphia Eagles Draft Needs

2021 Draft Picks: #12, #37, #70, #84, #123, #150, #189

Biggest Positions of Need: Wide Receiver, Cornerback, Linebacker

The Eagles are in an uncertain period right now.

They are holding on to the short-lived memory of a completely unexpected Super Bowl run only four short years ago in 2017. However, the majority of that team is gone now and the 2021 Eagles will need to lay the foundation to create their own identity.

This Eagles team has to improve its roster immensely through the draft. Philly is in a major cap crunch right now and they have little funds to spare to improve the roster through free agency. The team has huge holes all over the roster but none are bigger than wide receiver. The Eagles may need to dip into the draft early and often again in 2021. The current group on the roster simply isn’t good enough and can’t be counted on to get the job done.

Along with the receivers, the defenders trying to stop them need to be improved immensely as well. The Eagles need to uproot their secondary and add some more talented cornerbacks to the roster. They may also focus on Surtain Jr. and Farley similarly to the Cowboys who pick at #10 while the Eagles have the #12 pick in the first round.

Elsewhere, the defense needs help and improvements all over. The Eagles have seen their linebackers age quickly and the group has lost a step in today’s NFL. They must improve the group’s speed, athleticism, and coverage skills to compete with today’s lightning pace and pass-happy offenses.
